Chelsea set new Premier League record with win over West Brom

Chelsea defeated West Brom 1-0 on Sunday, to move back to the top of the Premier League.
The Blues had been toppled for 24 hours by London rivals, Arsenal, who beat Stoke City 3-1 at the Emirates.

Victory over Tony Pulis’ men extended the Blues’ winning run to nine games. It is the fifth time the club have won nine or more games in a row – a new Premier League record.
Chelsea have not dropped points since they were hammered 3-0 by Arsenal in September, going on to pick up maximum points against teams like Leicester City, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City.
The Stamford Bridge club also won nine games in a row in 2007 and 2005, on their way to winning the title.
They can extend the run to 10 matches, a feat they also achieved in 2009, when they take on Sunderland on Wednesday.
